As a young child, Danny met Jesus on a football field in his Northeast Texas hometown. He grew up as the middle child of his parents with an older brother and younger sister. Many Saturdays of his childhood he spent competing in horse shows and equestrian events across Southwest Arkansas. As a teenager, Danny was active in his church youth group where he was involved in skits, going to camps, and being with his friends. Sometime after graduating high school, Danny began to volunteer at a ranch where he could be involved with two of his passions, horses and special-needs children.
While attending the church in Northeast Texas, Danny began volunteering as the “youth guy” during the absence of an official youth minister. During this time, the church selected Danny to serve as a deacon of the congregation.
Then, while Danny’s job position was in the process of moving out of state, God provided Danny a job in Gainesville, Texas. The Sparks family moved to North Texas and soon began attending First Baptist Church Krum. They fell in love with the loving church congregation and became members. God has since blessed Danny with the privilege of serving as the youth minister here.
Danny found that he has a heart for teenagers. He relates to their youthfulness and enjoys just being around them, whether being silly or just listening to them. The teenagers tend to bring a playful joy to his life. He is passionate about seeing youth come to know Christ as their personal Savior, and he has a heart for seeing them grow in their relationship with Christ.
Danny also enjoys wearing overalls, driving big tractors, and fishing out of ponds. You can usually find him with his precious son, cute daughter, and beautiful wife.
