We are committed to equipping the body to love God and love people in order to fulfill the Great Commission.
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
-Matthew 28:18-20
The core of our mission statement comes from two commandments that God gave His people all the way back in the book of Deuteronomy. In the New Testament, Jesus reminds His listeners what those commandments are:
“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’t There is no commandment greater than these.”
-Mark 12:29-31
Our vision, here at New Life First Baptist, is simple:
We exist to make disciples who make disciple as we G.R.O.W together.
GIVING – We believe giving is an investment that pays heavenly dividends. This means investing our talents (serving), treasure (Biblical stewardship), and time (discipleship).
RESTORATION – Scripture (Galatians 6:1-2) tells us, as believers, if we see anyone caught in any transgression we are to restore them gently, with love. This passage goes on to say we are to bear one anothers burdens. As we restore, we encourage life change where we rearrange our priorities to reflect Christ first in all we do.
OUTREACH – This is being obedient to our mandate to GO and make disciples. The Great Commission gives us the model of sharing the gospel, making disciples of all nations, and teaching them to observe all I have commanded you…, making disciples who make disciples.
WORSHIP – Worship is at the heart of our church. It is the expressed by an adoration and reverence of God. God desires for us to glorify him. Worship is honor and adoration directed toward God for who He is and what He has done.
During authentic worship:
- God is glorified (Leviticus 10:3; Psalm 223)
- The believer is purified (Psalm 24:1-4)
- The church is edified (I Corinthians 14:12)
- The unsaved are evangelized (John 4:20-26)
